I'm Shaun Kennedy, a Penticton-based photographer, filmmaker and marketing creative. Photography has been part of my life for years. Life Uncharted Studio is about bringing that experience and passion into a new chapter.
The story behind Life Uncharted.
For years, I worked as a full-time professional photographer here in the Okanagan, capturing weddings, portraits, people and moments that mattered.
I loved it. The creativity, the connections, the stories and the opportunity to see the world a little differently through my camera.
But life has a way of changing our direction.
After facing some personal battles with my mental health, I made the decision to step away from professional photography. I needed time to regain my focus, find balance and figure out what I wanted moving forward.
But I never stopped taking pictures.
The camera was still part of my life. I continued exploring, travelling, creating and capturing the world around me. Photography was never something I needed a paying client to enjoy. It was something I genuinely loved.
And somewhere along the way, I realized I missed more than the work. I missed connecting with people, developing ideas and bringing stories to life.
I knew I wanted to return, but I also knew I wanted to do things differently.
Same passion. A bigger picture.
Over the years, my creativity has grown beyond the camera. Photography, video production, social media and digital marketing have become different ways of doing what I've always loved: telling stories.
Today, I'm bringing those skills together to help local businesses, brands and individuals connect with their audiences in an ever-changing digital world.
From documenting weddings and life's meaningful moments to helping small businesses grow through photography, video and creative marketing, my goal is to create work that feels genuine, purposeful and worth remembering.
My work with local businesses including Pier Water Sports, Crescent Hill Winery and OK Vinyl Products has reinforced how much I enjoy telling the stories behind the people and places of the Okanagan.
I'm not starting over. I'm building on years of experience, lessons learned and a passion that never really went away.
Life Uncharted Studio isn't where my creative story began. It's where I've chosen to take it next.
